The Chord in Our Heart

When we listen to the song in our heart and dare to express it, we share our soul. When the chord in our heart is struck, we resonate with all living things and with the resources that sustain the Universe. Could we listen for and express from that?

Resting in the Journey

When we stop chasing after the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow we begin to experience the aliveness of the journey. The focus then shifts from the imagined future scene in the movie of our life to the present scene, here and now. Every step reminds us how to live. The walk is everything.

The Work of Love

William Blake said, “We are put here for a little space that we may learn how to bear the beams of love.” What matters is if we can make it to the cliff of “Yes” and shout our secrets to the sky till Heaven is the song we choose to sing on Earth. We are charged by love with the vibrancy of a larger presence.

The Work of Being Human

Could experience be for humans what erosion is for elements? Is the purpose of experience, over a lifetime, to carry us to what matters and then wear us away till we become part of the sweet water the next generation drinks? If this is so, then what is the work of being human?

The Work of Being

Is it possible that with each inhalation we take in the world and also awaken our soul? And with each exhalation do we free ourselves of the world which inevitably entangles us? Is this how we fill up and empty a hundred times a day, seeking the gift of the two breaths? Perhaps this is the work of being.

Planting Seeds of Intention

When we are no longer identified with the personal self, we can plant seeds of intention in the vast intelligent awareness that we all share. In this way, we align with the natural creative force of life, that living energy of creation and manifestation. The gardener in us must intentionally sow the wise seeds.

Hearing the Cries of the World

Kuan-yin, whose name means, “hearing the cries of the world”, reminds us to refine our listening from head to heart. Can we not turn away when the world cries out? 

Saying Yes

When we have the courage to not waste our gifts, we have opened to the blessings of life. Coming from this grateful feeling, we harvest the grace of each moment. The art of blessing what is moves us to the Divine YES.

 

A Lifelong Process (Emergence)

To grow, we must be willing to embrace the necessary change and allow ourselves to evolve into a new consciousness. This evolutionary imperative must happen moment by eternal moment where only the coming is sacred, as Emerson would say.

The Deepest Acceptance

When we accept what is, we are in alignment with what happens. This inner nonresistance enables us to meet what is with equanimity. When we arrive at this profound acceptance we are free to be the holding space that ultimately heals.
